In this talk, Mingarelli will discuss Leonardo da Vinci’s work in the realm of mathematics – specifically in the areas of arithmetic and geometry.

**Media are invited to attend the event.**

Mingarelli will explore how da Vinci spent close to 20 years trying to “square the circle” and solve mathematical problems that, today, are known to be unsolvable.

The Science Café series is organized by the Faculty of Science at Carleton to discuss relevant issues facing our society and how science can help solve real-world problems.
